Scope

The central theme of the TIE 2019 Conference is innovation, with a special focus on emerging technologies for education, creativity, entertainment, well being, arts, and business development. In addition, it aims at promoting new venture creation opportunities that emerge from these innovations, as well as innovative methods that target these core subjects. The conference aims to provide a platform where academics and practitioners from cross-disciplinary fields such as education, artistic creation, creative industries, and business can come together and collaborate. The event will encourage the exploration of the potential synergies that may arise from pooling the different perspectives.

Topics

In its third edition of 2019, the Special Focus of the conference lies on applied storytelling, technological innovations for storytelling, storytelling systems for education, as well as systems that foster narrative creation, in the context of entrepreneurship and business. We call for paper submissions from different disciplines covering these and related topics.

Paper submission

TIE 2019 accepts full papers (max. 10 pages including references) describing research results, practical reports, or case studies and short papers (max 6 pages including references) presenting late-breaking work. Submission will undergo a double-blind peer review process.

As such, submitted papers should not have author and institutional identification in the title and header areas, nor in the body of the paper.

Explicit self-references should be avoided, instead authors citing their own prior work should discuss it in the third person (“Previous work by <Author> [X1]…” instead of “In our previous work [X1]…”). Authors should also avoid mentioning the names of institutions where the work was done (“participants were recruited from the university campus”, instead of “participants were recruited from the <Institution name>”). Authors should also avoid clear identification marks of their affiliation in figures and supplementary material.

All submissions should be written in English and must follow the Springer formatting guidelines (see Author’s Kit section). Previously published work may not be submitted, nor may the work be concurrently submitted to any other conference or journal. Such papers will be rejected without review. Papers should be submitted through EAI ‘Confy‘ system. Please read the Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement.

Papers should be submitted through EAI ‘Confy’ system at Confy+, and have to comply with Springer’s format (see Author’s kit section).

Papers will be judged on originality, correctness, clarity and relevance. Submitted papers must be original work, and may not be under consideration for another conference or journal. Submission of the paper implies agreement of the author(s) to attend the conference and present the paper if accepted. Full details of submission procedures are available here.

In case of acceptance at least one of the authors must register and attend the conference. Papers whose authors are not at the conference to present their paper will be removed from the Springer Digital Library.

Publications

All accepted papers will be published as conference proceedings by Springer USA and made available through SpringerLink Digital Library, one of the world’s largest scientific libraries.

Proceedings will be submitted for inclusion in leading indexing services, Ei Compendex, ISI Web of Science, Scopus, CrossRef, Google Scholar, DBLP, as well as EAI’s own EU Digital Library (EUDL).
